About

As a visual artist I focus my practice in performance, sculpture, video and installation. In my multilayered projects I explore the relationship between the physical and the virtual body, questioning established roles and autobiographical elements. The main objects I create for my works are named “wearable sculptures” and they represent the conditions and adversities in life. These pieces are extensions of my own body, they use to be quite heavy and act as an armour, protecting me and connecting me to earth, but also being a burden and an obstacle. They may be illusions, metaphors from the past, obsessions and tough experiences.
Lately I explore in my new projects the social relationships and the connections between people. The body takes an essential role in my work as the vehicle through whish we experiment and learn. I consider my projects to be very visual and poetic. The work in progress comes out in objects, drawings, videos and photographs. The variety of mediums allows me to explore different aspects of my ideas. The nature of my work has brought me to collaborations with dancers, particularly in my performances.
I am a visual artist with spanish and german nationalities. I studied Fine Arts in the Stuttgart University (with Joan Jonas) and later on Image and Multimedia at the Massana in Barcelona. I have made performances and exhibitions in the Miró Foundation in Mallorca ( “Wish garden”, “Clove, memory of a hedgehog” ), NDSM Amsterdam ( “Watermarks” ) and the ABBA Gallery in Mallorca ( “ Anemoi” ). My participation in contemporary dance and music festivals include “ Ankunkt Neue Musik” ( Berlin ), “ Corpus Media 2010” ( Toulouse ) and “ Fira de Teatre de Tárrega” ( Catalunya ). I won the art award “ Rei en Jaume 2008 “ and the production award “ Operare 2011” in Berlin. My work has been shown in Spain, France, Germany, Holland, Portugal, Argentina and Bolivia, in video and performance festivals.
